The Author: E.B. White

Elwyn Brooks White, an American writer, was born on July 11, 1899 in Mt. Vernon, New York. He attended Cornell University. After a year in the Army, he went back to Cornell and majored in English.
After graduation in 1921, White's first two books were
"The Lady is Cold," a book of poems, and "Is Sex Necessary?" written in collaboration with James Thurber.
White also wrote many other titles, including "The Fox of Peapack," "The Wild Flag," and
"Here is New York".
He also wrote three children's books titled "Stuart Little" which won the Laura Ingalls Wilder award, "Charlotte's Web". and "The Trumpet of the Swan" both of which won awards.
